Left Brain Injuries
We hear a lot of about how people can be more “right-brain” or “left-brain” types.
So what does that mean? Well, each side of the brain controls different aspects of our humanity. And injuries to either side can affect those specifically.
Per the Brain Injury Association of America, injuries of the left side of the brain can cause:
Difficulties in understanding language (receptive language)
Difficulties in speaking or verbal output (expressive language)
Catastrophic reactions (depression, anxiety)
Verbal memory deficits
Decreased control over right-sided body movements
